We are currently opening expressions of interest for a very special lady who is ready to retire from our breeding program and transition into a new chapter of her life.
Meet Spring Hills Sunlit Roux, a beautiful 4-year-old apricot female Australian Cobberdog!
Roux is an amazing opportunity for a family looking to skip the intense puppy and young adult phases. At 4 years old, she is a mature adult who is deserving of a loving family to enjoy her retirement with.
About Roux• Age: 4 years old (Mature adult)• Gender: Female (Will be desexed prior to rehoming)• Size & Weight: Standard (57cm tall at the wither, 22kg)• Colour & Coat: Straight single apricot coat• Training: Fully house-trained and has basic obedience. Please note she is not crate trained. Roux knows both verbal and hand signals.• Walking & Travel: She walks beautifully on a lead and travels wonderfully in the car.• Personality: Affectionate yet independent, gentle and easy to train. Rock solid nerve strength, level headed and sociable.• Energy: Roux has a moderate energy level. She has short bursts of energy yet is just as content laying around when nothing else is happening.
Her Wonderful (and Quirky!) PersonalityRoux is highly intelligent, easy to train, and exceptionally compliant. She is very affectionate yet independent, offering the perfect balance of companionship. Here are a few things that make Roux so unique:
• Water Preferences: She enjoys an elbow-deep paddle to cool off but is not particularly fond of full immersive swimming. She can swim, just chooses not to.• Sleeping Habits: Roux prefers sleeping on the floor in the bedroom doorway over a dog bed! However, she loves coming up for a cuddle in bed with you in the mornings.• Favourite Activity: Playing fetch. If you can toss a ball, Roux will retrieve and return it until your arm falls off.• Little Quirks: She will absolutely steal items of her human's clothing or eat cardboard if given the opportunity!
Roux is a great project buddy. She happily lies in the vicinity without being underfoot whilst you work on projects regardless of the noise or tools being used.Roux gets on well with other dogs, occasionally engaging in short play sessions, however is just as happy doing her own thing while other dogs play.She has not had an abundance of exposure to children, yet all interactions she has had have been positive and non eventful.
• Grooming: Roux is used to being groomed whilst laying down. She will stay there until she is told “all done”.Her Needs: Because she is so bright, she has a tendency to alert bark if her mental and physical needs are not being met although she is obedient in stopping when told to hush. She will thrive with a family who keeps her engaged.
Roux loves to participate in the Cobberdog cuddle. When invited, Roux will stand on her rear legs, wrap her arms around the waist and hug for as long as permitted.
Her Retirement PlacementAs Roux is retiring, she will be desexed at our expense before being ready to transition to her new home in around 1 months time (end of October).With the greatest reluctance, I am accepting Expressions of Interest for rehoming Roux.
